Commission approves major agreements for Columbia County Performing Arts Center

EVANS, GA (WFXG) - Exciting news for the Columbia County performing arts center today. County commissioners approved two long-awaited agreements for the performing arts center. A three-year agreement with Ticketmaster and a partnership agreement with the Nederlander National Markets.

This means you can buy tickets to shows through Ticketmaster and Broadway is coming to Evans!

The roughly $36 million project has been four years in the making and the new Columbia county performing arts center is preparing to open its doors in May.
After those partnerships were approved Tuesday night, general manager Matt Jameson said he's excited to share an experience unlike any other in the area. “In the fall we’re going to launch our Broadway season and we will do an annual Broadway season subscription where we start with right around five shows it may grow into five to eight Broadway shows every year. It will start later in the fall.”

“It’s a new place for people to gather. For so long with COVID-19 and everything we’ve been faced with, being able to get back together and witness live entertainment and be able to do that I mean it’s here, it’s in our backyard we’re at home and you can come and really enjoy the shows in a brand new, state of the art first-class venue.”

Full-season ticket sales start at the end of this Summer. Doors officially open to the public with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on May 14. The very first performance is a local dance recital on May 15. Jameson said that’s just the beginning of some pretty exciting performances headed this way.
